A few years ago I had been experimenting with EEGs while I was learning. I was studying for my EEGs licensing exam, and there was a company that was running an experiment for students: they would allow you to look at your EEGs while you are learning, in real-time.

The main thing that I noticed was that I was able to self-regulate my brain activity. When I started to become bored, drowsy, or more interested, I realized that I was able to adjust my brain activity to compensate. For instance, I would see myself become drowsy, and I would try to get myself to focus harder. I could see my brain activity change to match the effort.

I feel like this could be an incredible tool for students. You're able to adjust your brain activity to compensate for the way that you're feeling, which I believe would lead to greater focuses, better retention of material, and greater motivation. It could be especially fantastic for students with ADHD or autism, who may have a harder time focusing.

I'm not aware of any EEG companies that are doing this now, but it's a really cool idea that more people should hear about.
