No one should be allowed to be a stay at home mom until the youngest child is 6-7 (1st grade age), for their own good.

I'm not saying anyone should be forbidden from doing that, rather the government should give help only if that mom is working for the first 6 years of their child's life. (At least part time)

A friend of mine has a mom who has never worked a day in her life. She had my friend when she was 23, and started having kids at 16.

When I hang out with my friend, who is now 21, we are less a friendship and more me being her sounding board for her insecurities.

Her mom is 44 years old and has never had a job. Never been to college. She says she is bored all the time. She knows nothing about finances, career, or life outside of "homemaker."

It's not uncommon for stay at home dads/moms (who have never worked) to get divorced after their kid leaves the house as the stay at home parent has nothing, literally nothing, in common with their spouse. They also usually have no clue how to function in the real world, so it's usually a nasty and expensive divorce.

This is obviously my opinion, but stay at home moms/dads should be banned from having kids until they have gained some sort of experience in life.
