As a childfree adult who is childless by choice, I'm shocked at how many places arent childfree and how much I hate seeing children on planes and in restaurants.

I'm a 40yo single female. I've never wanted kids. Growing up, I was forced to help babysit my niece and nephew during summer vacation, and I grew to resent the experience. I know I would've been a terrible mother.

I've traveled extensively for 15+ years. I flew for the first time in 18 months last weekend.

I used to love flying. Being in the airport, hearing announcements, getting through security, etc. it all felt like an adventure.

Last weekend, I was on a flight and there was yapping, screaming, and screeching throughout the entire flight. I wanted to get up and smack the mother. I dont care if thats "a hard job" or whatever. There are tons of people working much harder jobs who dont yell at customers.

I dont go to many restaurants because I dont want to be around children. However, if they're there, they're usually well behaved.

All I want is to go back to the pre-covid days when most mothers kept their kids indoors and away from the public eye. I never ever saw children out and about before covid. I feel like covid somehow gave parents carte blanche to take their kids anywhere.
