My husband has wasted dozens of full plastic water bottles. It’s giving me severe anxiety.

I’m not sure if this is the most frugal thing, but I’m really hoping I can get the frugal community to help me brainstorm some solutions.
My husband has a water bottle he likes to take with him (Camelback Better Bottle in case you were curious). However, he keeps buying full plastic bottles to “use to travel” and then he is “not comfortable” putting them in the recycle bin.
I have a small house with a husband and three kids and eeevery time he leaves he takes one of these bottles and leaves me with it when he gets home. I buy a few a year, but he buys *dozens* of them. I am starting to have so many of them that I’m running out of space to keep them and I feel like I’m drowning in plastic and I HATE it! And don’t even get me started on the money.
He will not store them in the garage, he will not let me throw them in the recycling, and he will not stop taking full water bottles with him when he travels.
What can I do? I am shocked at how much it has bothered me.

TL;DR: Husband is taking full water bottles and contaminating them which is driving me nuts!
