My dad fought for freedom and was tortured by the Vietnamese. This country is not the country he fought for. I am ashamed of what we fought for.

My dad was drafted in the 60s and was an injured POW for seven months. He was stormed by the Vietnamese and his legs were completely shattered by a mortar round. His legs were absolutely shattered and he couldn’t walk for 2 years and had to learn how to walk again. He was captured and held as an injured POW for 7 months. The Vietnamese were so evil and would make him stand up all day while they questioned him in his crippled state for hours. He was a patriot and loved this country but now he is ashamed of it. A man that was once shot down and captured and was tortured by the Vietnamese now thinks our government is worse than the Vietcong. This country has changed a lot, and the patriots that fought for freedom are now ashamed of the country we live in today.
