Hello.

I browsed the Chinese internet a lot, and read a lot of the high school messages. People are a lot skeptical.

I browsed this sub for a long time, and I know what you guys think. I am a Chinese, and I can tell you, I agree, and this is why we should be optimistic.

I am a high school student. I am very interested in general science, physics, chemistry, biology. (I want to do computer science, but that is too hard for me to do right now.) However, in recent years, my interest in science wanes a lot. I am unsure why. Maybe my teacher is too hard on me, or my classmates are too stupid. I don't know.

But ChatGPT is a godsend. I asked it a few questions, and a few of them are in high school and a few of them are in college. It is very nice at explaining them. I have a lot of questions that I didn't ask my teacher or classmates, because they are too stupid, and my teacher will laugh at me. But now I can ask all these questions to ChatGPT. It is nice.

The questions most of us Chinese have for ChatGPT is, what if ChatGPT replaces a lot of jobs in China and makes us jobless? This is a valid point, I know a lot of companies are laying off people and replacing them with ChatGPT. I am very busy.

I want to give you an analogy. A farmer that grows cotton, picks cotton, and makes clothing can be replaced by machines. But a farmer that grows cotton and then buys clothing can't be replaced by machines.

We Chinese have been so busy with manufacturing, and call centers, and low-wage labor that we are just working, and we don't have time to do other stuff, like clothes, and food, and entertainment. Now a lot of this stuff are being automated, and we can do everything. You might not know this, Chinese clothes are very bad, Chinese food are very bad, Chinese entertainment are very bad. But now we have extra time to make these stuff better.

Ultimately, I want to say, the clothes that cost 100RMB and the clothes that cost 1000RMB have almost no difference in quality. Why do we have to pay 1000RMB for something that can be had for 100RMB? We can just pay a little more and give it to our own people, and clothes, and food, and entertainment can be way better.

We Chinese want to get rich, and we are rich, but we can't give jobs to everyone, because a lot of clothes cost 100RMB and the clothes that cost 1000RMB have almost no difference in quality. We can't get rich for everyone, but now we can make clothes, and food, and entertainment better, and good jobs will naturally come out of it. I am very busy.
