My (32f) husband (32M) got me a sentimental birthday gift but came clean it was actually for his ex

We went out for our 4 year anniversary (1 year married) about six months ago and my husband let out a big bombshell: he had been unfaithful in his previous relationship and the reason they broke up was because of it. He assured me it was before we met and before we started dating (7 years ago), and I forgave him, partially because I knew our relationship was strong and because I had already learned to forgive him for something big (separate incident).

We've been together ever since, no issues. He always makes me feel loved and appreciated.

For my birthday he got me a beautiful gold locket. When he gifted it my heart raced b/c as soon as I saw it I knew it was the same one I had wanted for years. He put photos of us as a couple in it. It was so sweet. I told him it was my all time favorite gift from him and thanked him for being so thoughtful.

Well, on the weekend, he had some errands to run and had to take our dog with him. He wasn't able to leave our dog with me at home, so he asked a neighbor to let herself in and take care of our dog. I didn't love the idea at all, but this neighbor and I have been friends for over a year, so I trusted her. We've never had any issues.

Well, later that day when my husband and I were home alone, our neighbor accidentally sent me a text message (meant for my husband). It was something like, "noted! No one knows about it". Confused, I responded asking what that was about. She just said her mistake and please forget it (basically super awkward and made a joke about it). I'm a pretty direct person b/c I hate secrets (especially after what happened with our anniversary bombshell), so I kept pushing her on it. She finally admitted my husband had told her that the necklace he got me was originally purchased for his ex.

I'm so pissed off I don't even know what to do. She tried to defend him to say it was well over a year ago that he bought it, and he forgot about it, and it doesn't mean anything to him, but wtf?? And who cares when he bought it? He gave it to me and acted like it was so thoughtful of him. And the worst part is all this happened just a few days ago, so my birthday has now been ruined for me. I just want to scream and throw something at him.

I don't even know how to confront him about it. I feel so humiliated. I'm just really upset and angry. I could use some advice on what to do next.

TLDR: husband gave me a sentimental gold locket for my birthday but I learned it was originally purchased for his ex
