I watched a few hours of videos on coding, including Codecademy Pro, Udemy, Pluralsight, and Coding 101.

I believe the question I have applies to just about every field, but I will put this in here since it has to do with coding.

I have a question that can be applied to just about any job or career, but I want to know that after spending a few years learning and becoming a pretty good coder, is there a point that you get to where you feel like you can completely *ignore* everything that currently exists in the field, and be able to discover it all on your own at your current level and pace?

Put another way, is there a point where all *,\*\*existing\*\*** information that is available to you to learn at your current level and pace, where you feel like you can just \*\*ignore\*\* all of that, and figure out everything yourself, because you know enough that you can do that?

,\*\*Example\*\*: Anybody who is pretty *good* at Java and coding in general, for example, can either just look at the documentation for,\*\* `System.out.println()`\*\* and read what is there, or they could *ignore* that and just experiment with *different* print statements that aren’t \*\*listed\*\*, and do so by using their current working knowledge of Java, and just figure it all out on their own….
