My brother staying in a room for two months for my sister-in-laws anniversary. He has a stable job and I felt it was unfair that he wasn’t paying rent for that long. He agreed and my sister-in-law and my parents were happy to agree. It really helps the family long-term.

My tips:

-You can always talk to your parents about paying something. Just saying something helps. They will understand.
- It depends where you stay and how big the property is. Generally, it is a good idea to check the property value and ask for a significant amount.
- Your family will appreciate this and will likely invest or save this money.
- It will also teach you to manage money in a smarter way

Hope this helps. You can pay the amount you think is fair to the host.
