Microsoft’s Bing AI chatbot now has a former Google engineer in charge. It’s just the latest in a string of departures from Google this year, including the heads of Google Brain, Gemini, and even some early DeepMind researchers. It’s not just key research personnel; Google's Gemini research lab already poached ~100 of Google’s top researchers, and Microsoft itself has grabbed hundreds of Google employees. Samsung recently successfully recruited Google researchers as well. What's going on?
