I did contract work for a large company and now they offered me a job as a regular employee.

I know it's common that companies hire full time employees who are contract workers in general, but I have a few concerns that I don't know if it's a bad idea to go through with.

The main contract work I did was financial analysis type things, and it seems like a lot of the regular employees do the same thing. I do have a degree in finance, and I have seen a lot of jobs similar to the one I've done on LinkedIn, but I'm not sure if it's a good career path.

I'm a little worried that if I go regular employee, I may be pigeonholing myself into a specific area that doesn't have a lot of career advancement potential.

Am I overthinking this?
