CMV: If a father breaks up with a mother before she gives birth, she should be able to strip all parental rights and responsibilities from him (obviously excluding child support) if she chooses to.

I truly can't understand why it's not considered acceptable for a mother to deny the father all parental rights and responsibilities if he decides to leave before the baby is even born. It seems obvious to me that if a guy is a deadbeat before the baby is even born, he will never be there for the kid and only be a burden on the mother, and by extension the kid. I think it should be illegal for a guy to deny parental rights/responsibilities from a mother because it's unfair that a mother could be forced to raise a child with a man she doesn't even care for, but conversely, if a mother decides she'd rather not be burdened by the guy who's already proven he's a piece of shit before the baby is even born, then that should also be legal. If a mother decides she can't handle raising the baby on her own, she can always give it up for adoption.
