The main cause of the Texas power outage was the fact that windmills froze and couldn't produce enough electricity, but nobody is talking about it

I am european and I have no clue how such a thing could happen in the US. The last couple of days Texas was suffering from massive power outages which affected 4 million homes without electricity. It was so cold that some pipes were bursting and many people lost their houses. The media blamed it on the "capitalism" and the "inefficiency of free market". It's not the first time something like this happens and it will not be the last. In 2011 it also happened and nothing was done about it.

The main cause of all this is that half of Texas powerplants were down because of the severe weather and the fact that half of their windmills froze and couldn't produce enough electricity. But somehow nobody is talking about this issue. The media is blaming everything on oil and gas and the main focus is shifting towards them. I don't really get it. What do you think could be the reason for this?
