Advice for an Israeli who's going to America in couple weeks?

Howdy! I hope the time between now and my flight will pass fast. I'm going to Florida for a couple weeks. I was never in the US before, so I'll be happy for any info and tips. What do I have to buy beforehand? What are the must see places in southern Florida? I was in a western country before (Japan), does it help?
