I saved my friend from a potential kidnapper

I was working as a bartender in a lively college town and it was an extremely busy night. It was so busy that I had to ask one of my regular customers Jade to help me out for the night. She was a single Mom in her 20s and a few weeks before she told me that her Mother was back in town and that she would be able to babysit sometimes so that Jade could go out and have some fun. When I asked her to work for me that night she told me that she already had plans to go to a party in town. I offered to pay her double if she came in to help which she quickly agreed to.<br><br>So we were both working at the bar and we were extremely busy. We had bands and D-J's play on busy nights and on this particular night a band was playing and there was a bunch of people on the dance floor. So as you can imagine, it was loud. It was so loud that if I wanted to tell Jade something I had to typically yell it in her ear. <br><br>After we closed I was counting the money, locking up and sweeping the floors. I was also drinking quite a bit because I had 12-13 hour shifts most days of the week and closing was a lot of work so I felt I deserved a few drinks after a long day.<br><br>As I was counting the money I noticed a strange looking man standing by the bar next to Jade. He looked out of place and I didn't recognize him. I went over and asked Jade who he was and she told me that she didn't recognize him and that he was trying to hit on her. He clearly didn't attend the local college. First of all he was way to old to be a college student. I would guess he was in his mid to late 30s. He looked way too old to attend a college in a party town. It was clear that he was into something bad.<br><br>So as I was sweeping I noticed that Jade went to the bathroom. I walked over to the man and told him that we were closed and he needed to leave. He asked if I was her boyfriend and I told him no I'm the owner and we're closed. He argued with me a bit and I finally told him that I was going to call the cops so he left.<br><br>After he left I went to look for Jade. I checked the bathrooms and she was gone so I went outside to smoke a cigarette. She was not outside so I went back in the bar and checked the office, the stock room and everywhere else. She was nowhere to be found. So I got in my car and drove around town looking for her. I looked at all of the bars, restaurants and cafes that were open and I couldn't find her. I started to get really worried and I was scared that this creep abdused her.<br><br>So I went back to the bar and decided to call the cops. But before I did I was going to review the camera footage to see what happened to her. After reviewing the footage I saw her leave right after I kicked the creep out. Her car was still parked in the parking lot so she clearly didn't leave of her own free will. <br><br>I was starting to panic and I decided to call the cops right away. They came to the bar and they asked me a list of questions and then they told me that they were going to review the footage and see if they could spot the license plate of the car that he was driving.<br><br>I hung out at the bar for another hour and I still hadn't heard from her. I was extremely worried at this point and I didn't know what to do. I was going crazy.<br><br>Finally, she called me around 2:30 AM and told me that she was at the hospital. She told me that this creep drugged her and she didn't even remember leaving the bar. She told me that the last thing that she remembered was going to the bathroom. She said that she woke up in his car and she started to panic as soon as she woke up. She said that she started hitting him and screaming and he stopped his car and shoved her out of his car. She said that she fell over and scraped up her knees. She told me that she walked to a convenience store nearby and called an ambulance because she thought that she might have a broken rib. <br><br>I met her at the hospital and they were giving her all kinds of tests. They did a drug test to see what she was drugged with and a CAT scan to make sure that she didn't have any broken ribs or internal bleeding. They also did a rape kit on her.<br><br>The drug test came up negative thank God but the rape kit came up positive. They found male DNA and it was a match. He was a convicted felon who had a criminal history that included sexual assualt, kidnapping, rape and murder. <br><br>She had to get stitches in her knees and the doctor told her that she had a fractured rib. She was in a lot of pain for almost three months and she had a hard time breathing. Her mental health also declined a bit afterwards and she had to take some time off work. She got a huge settlement and the guy got 20 to life.
