Let's start by saying that I did not believe it, but once I got confirmation, I could not bring myself to watch it again. Shooter (2007) is a movie where Mark Wahlberg plays the role of a former Marine Scout Sniper who is framed for an attempted assassination of the president. However, what this film really is, is a video showing the training of multiple shooters, showing each phase of the training.

Now, I know that "trained assassins" have been in films forever and that this is not a new film, but just hear me out. The beginning of the film starts with an incident in Africa where the main character Bob Lee Swagger is on a mission. He sees a fellow sniper get ambushed, and when he goes to help him, he realizes that the man is still alive, and the people around him are trying to film him beheading the man. I do not want to go into too much detail here but I want to say that this scene to me screams ISIS. I do not want to say that anything exactly like this has happened but let's just say that these "groups" are known to film their deaths.

The next part of the training shows Bob's transition back into civilian life, and how lonely and isolated he is. He is then shot and lives in fear of the government, but he is contacted by the government and told that they are worried about the president's life. They tell him that they believe that the president will be assassinated from a distance, and they want him to show them where and how it would be done.

Later in the film, Bob decides that he is being framed for the attempted assassination. He goes through the process of clearing his name, including clearing the "assassins" rifle that was found. Bob finds out that the rifle was custom made, with custom bullets, and it was made in a way that was not legal in the United States. He then contacts the man who was said to have been in contact with the man who was assassinated, only to find that he had been killed. In this scene in the movie Bob sees that there is a wound in the man's leg, but after a short time, the man bleeds to death. In the film, Bob thinks that there must be a bullet in the man's leg, but the scene's purpose is to show how these assassins are trained to ignore their wounds and keep going. Bob then goes to the man's home and he finds a custom-made rifle just like the one that was found at the attempted assassination. Bob also finds all of the information he needs to be able to find the assassin.

The ending scene shows Bob clearing his name and taking out all of the "bad guys". The purpose of the ending scene is to show what is expected of these "assassins". They are to keep going and take out all of their "enemies", even if they are gravely injured.

What I am trying to say is that this film shows the way that these "assassins" are trained. First, they are given a traumatic event that they are responsible for. In Bob's case, it is the death of his fellow soldier. Then they are isolated and left alone for a period of time. After that, they are given a "mission" and they are expected to follow through to the end. This is shown when Bob is gravely injured but keeps going. Then lastly, they are expected to film their "missions" so that they can be trained further. In Bob's case, after he clears his name, he realizes that the whole training process was filmed and that he had been part of this "training" the whole time.

Now, if you have not realized it yet, this training process is what our government uses to train their "assassins." This is the process that is used to train our "assassins" in the military. All of the process that I have stated above is the process by which they train our snipers, they train our assassins, and they train our hitmen.

Now, if you have not seen the movie I suggest you watch it and pay very close attention to the process that I have stated above. If you have seen the movie, then you know exactly what I am talking about. Let's just say that the last time I watched the movie I got chills thinking about the fact that this "movie" is actually a "training video".
