I am a former police chief. I now believe that cop shows are actually propaganda

I think all people deserve to be treated in a "protect and serve"-like fashion. I *do not* think all people are entitled to a trial, only those who are acting in a manner that is not dangerous or threatening to others. I have recently learned that the widely popular police shows are "entertainment" that is produced with tax dollars. You can see people getting arrested on these shows for speeding, jaywalking, and other "crimes" that do not threaten others. I do not think this is a good use of tax dollars, and it is doing a disservice to the black community. We should be working towards restorative justice rather than over-policing. I'm not sure what else to say about this so I'll stop here.
