Hey everyone,

I've been looking into the different possibilities for how to address characters with the name "The Bastard" in my story. His name is in the title, so the character's name is printed on the inside, the bookmarks, and maybe I'll even get to see it in on the bookshelves someday.

So, do people usually address someone who has ‘The’ in their name as if it were a surname. Or would it be more common to say ‘This Bastard’ instead of ‘The Bastard?’ (As in, the articles would be ignored)

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! :)
