What's a simple thing about your world that you've thought out in great detail?

I want to start this thread off by saying this sub has actually inspired me to write a story set in my fantasy world, and I don't think I would have done that if I hadn't seen so many quality posts here.

In my world, that is a solar system with 8 habitable planets, moons, and dwarf planets, there are computers.

There are super high tech computers in my world, but a company on one of the planets decided to make low tech computers for "nostalgic reasons." They're basically remaking the computers of Earth from the early 2000's. But they're also upgrading them in subtle ways. For instance, they'll add Wi-Fi and make them more durable.

These computers are used for a ton of things, but the way I've worked them out the most is through a band that travels to different planets and moon colonies.

They're an indie rock band who tours by going to bars and clubs and just setting up and playing. They don't do any advertising other than that. Word of mouth. And they've gotten to the point where people will just show up to certain places on certain days because they know of the band. Despite this, they're still a small band, but they have enough fans that they can make a living touring in this way.

Their music is relatively lo-fi electronic rock, and they thought it would be a cool aesthetic for them to use this old tech and travel around in this way.

They also have this idea of "no digital footprint." They don't want to be on any social media, and their website that they made themselves just lists out their discography.

So, this is where the low-tech computers come in, they found out about them, and thought they were cool, and bought a couple. And now they use them on the road and at home.

The band's lead singer does all of the recording, mixing, and mastering for their songs. And a cool thing that he's done is that he uses the low-tech computers for all of that.

He has to use software from a company run by a billionaire alien who doesn't like the band very much and doesn't want to sell his software to them. Despite this, the band has still managed to get their hands on all of the software they want from this company. And a couple of their fans who are tech-savvy have worked out these workarounds for the software so that it runs perfectly on the low-tech computers.

The band also has a tradition of giving out "digital copies" of their new albums. They'll burn them onto CDs and just give them out to people who come to their shows. This is partly because they don't want to use the digital distribution services run by the same alien billionaire, and also because they just like the aesthetic of the CDs.

The billionaire alien also thinks that the band is stealing from him, and he doesn't like the fact that they're using his software in this way, and the fact that they're giving out "pirated" copies of the CDs, so there's a lot of animosity between the billionaire alien and the band.
