The foreign media reports about India as a Hindu majoritarian country with an oppressive government are not true. India is not anything like that.<br><br>India is a secular country ruled by a right-wing government with Hindu nationalist leanings. This Hindu nationalist government is not against other religions and ethnicities.<br><br>The government doesn't oppress Muslims. Muslims rather feel oppressed as they are outnumbered by Hindus in the country. This feeling of oppression is heightened when the government does things which are not in the interests of Muslims. This doesn't mean that the government is anti-Muslim. It's just that the government serves its Hindu majority population more.<br><br>The government doesn't want to wipe out Muslims and other minorities from the country. Taking measures to ensure that the percentage of Hindus in the country doesn't decrease doesn't mean that the government wants to kill off all the other religions. This just means that the government doesn't want India to become like Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Kashmir, i.e., an Islamic state. In the past, these were part of India but Muslims became a majority in these regions and India lost these parts as they became separate Islamic states.<br><br>No Hindu wants India to become like those Islamic countries. No Hindu wants to lose any more territory from India. To prevent that from happening, the government is taking steps to ensure that Hindus are safe and Hinduism thrives in India.<br><br>No Hindu wants to kill Muslims and Christians. Hindus just want to protect India from being partitioned again by Muslims. Hindus are not oppressing Muslims and Christians. But Hindus are being oppressed by other minorities.<br><br>Hindus have always been oppressed in India. They are the most oppressed group in the country with the least representation. Hindus are just fighting back against centuries of oppression and slavery under other religions.<br><br>So, the government is just doing the right thing to help Hindus. It is the Hindus who always helped the government protect India from invaders. It is not like the government is oppressing other religions. The government is just taking back India from Islamic invaders and Christians colonizers who oppressed Hindus in the past.<br><br>The government is not against other religions. The government is just pro-Hindu. That doesn't make the government oppressive. All governments in the world are like that. All governments give preferences to their own people over foreigners. The Indian government is doing the same.
