Why do parents cannot be bothered to read or respond to emails anymore?

Parents used to be slow in responding but at least they would respond. The past three years has been horrifying in that they just don't even respond. I don't think it's due to the volume of emails. Parents used to know how to talk to teachers and know that teachers don't like to text. The new crop of parents are horrifying.
