I’m convinced my wife was going to leave me for her coworker

My wife had a coworker who was a man and the best way I can describe him is cliche womanizer. He’s good looking, well built, and extremely charming with a smile that can light up a room. He was in his mid 30s but looked 25 and had this hilarious and charismatic personality that I suppose you could say is similar to a young Channing Tatum mixed with Ryan Gosling. I’ll call him Alex.<br><br>Our union had a contract so we couldn’t just transfer out of departments so my wife was stuck in this department with this guy for over a year. She wasn’t the only woman who noticed how hot he was but it was pretty obvious he had a thing for my wife. She was hilarious herself. She had long red hair and she was hilarious and the best looking woman in our union. She dissuaded him for the first few months but eventually she would join in on Alex’s conversations and it didn’t help that my wife and Alex shared similar interests. She had a gym membership and Alex would start going to the gym and he convinced her to join him and they would work out together.<br><br>This went on for what felt like forever. I jumped on her about it constantly and she would deny anything was going on and said there was no reason to be jealous. I confronted her about the gym and she said it was just a friend hanging out. Alex came up a lot and I brought it up hoping we could have a serious conversation and she said there was nothing going on. She tried to get me to join the gym with her and then I’m a creep for working out with my wife? It didn’t make any sense.<br><br>I confronted her one more time and this time she exploded and said I was making her feel guilty and that nothing was going on. She said if she wanted to cheat she’d have cheated by now and that I was being ridiculous. At this point I wanted to confront Alex since this went on for so long. He had to have been doing something right? She told me not to and that she wouldn’t have anymore conversations with me about this and to stop accusing her.<br><br>I’m not sure what possessed me but something did and I followed my wife to the gym one day and she came out 30 minutes later. I realized she was meeting him inside and they were probably hooking up in one of the locker rooms or something. I followed her home and was quiet the whole time and she kept asking what was wrong. I told her nothing and we went to bed. I couldn’t sleep and was so confused. I was so upset. I confronted her again the next day and was so angry and she was so angry and I was hoping we could get past the argument since this went on for so long and I couldn’t take it anymore and I just wanted to know the truth.<br><br>The next day she came home in a terrible mood and she was quiet the whole time until she exploded and said what the fuck is going on with me? Why am I so obsessed with Alex? She said she’s sick of hearing about him and I was being ridiculous and I need to grow up and be a man since this went on for over a year and I couldn’t get over something so stupid. She said she did nothing wrong and she loved and was faithful to me. I yelled back I DIDN’T KNOW BUT I’M GOING TO FIND OUT. I said she was making me this way and she did this to me. I was going fucking crazy. She told me to grow the fuck up and said I was acting like a little kid.<br><br>The next morning we both went to work and I decided to follow her again to the gym. Before we parted ways I gave her a kiss on the cheek and a hug and told her I loved her. I told her to enjoy her day at work and then the gym later and I wished her well. She was quiet but seemed a little more cheerful. I followed her to the gym and I was right. She came out 30 minutes later and she was crying so I knew something was going on. I’m not sure what happened exactly but she told me the next day that when she got to the gym and met up with Alex he came on strong to her and told her he had wanted her for awhile. That he knew she was married but he told her they could keep the affair a secret. She said she was upset and told him to back off. She said he said I have wanted you for awhile and that I have been in love with you since the day I met you. He told her that he was tired of waiting on her and that there were other women out there he wanted to explore. She said he went on and on about how great he was in bed and he compared himself to me and said he had bigger balls then me. Alex then said did you know your husband isn’t attractive at all? He was hoping you were single so we could start a relationship and he said he was tired of waiting and he was hoping we could have started something by now and he said he lost attraction to her so he was going to start talking to other woman and he hoped she understood. She said she was dissappointed and jumped in her car and left.<br><br>She came home early from work that day and I’ll never forget she had tears in her eyes and she apologized for everything. She said she didn’t realize how bad it was and she should have noticed how obsessed I was with this and she said she should have taken it seriously. She hugged me and she told me how much she loved me and thanked me for being so loyal and how much I meant to her. She made me some food and we watched a movie. I noticed she didn’t go to the gym that night.<br><br>The next day we went to work and when I got home she had a huge smile on her face. I asked her what happened and she told me she got a transfer and was going to a different department. I was hoping this would happen. I was dissappointed it took this long but was so happy this was finally over. She went out that night with her girls from the old department and I noticed she didn’t bring up Alex once. A few days later the gym membership was canceled and we never heard about Alex again.<br><br>We never talked about it and I was happy to move on and forget it ever happened.<br><br>She’s the love of my life and I’m so happy we were able to get past this.<br><br>I still wonder what would have happened if she didn’t get that transfer.
