CMV: Gay people need to stop referring to the rest of us as “straight people”, as if the only reason people need labels is their sexuality, not their race, religion, or nationality

This has become way too common and is really disrespectful and narcissistic. It is completely reasonable to identify a person as black, Jewish, or Chinese, and those are just a couple examples. It is not dehumanizing, and it is not a negative thing. But for some reason when it comes to sexuality it suddenly becomes offensive, unless you are gay, in which case it is okay to refer to the rest of us as “straight people.” Somehow it is not offensive when a gay person does it, it is only offensive when a straight person does it. Gay people also get to decide on a case by case basis if a person is straight or not. They will claim that a straight person is actually gay, but if a straight person claims a gay person is straight, they are very offensive for some reason.<br><br>Edit: I think it’s pretty clear that most people disagree with me lol.
