Hi everyone.

We are looking for somewhere to go for two weeks in the summer, and are leaning towards Costa Rica. The problem is that I’m concerned international travel will still be a nightmare in July. I’ve done the international song and dance several times since COVID started, and I’m over it. I’d like to explore our options in the US, and I’d appreciate any feedback.

We are looking for a mix of forest, beach, and mountain adventures. We will have two kids with us (8 and 11). We prefer to be off the beaten path, and tend to avoid developed areas like Miami Beach or Myrtle Beach. Some of the activities we are looking for include:

Hiking (to waterfalls)
Snorkeling
Surfing (beginner lessons for the kids)
Beach camping

Any suggestions you have are welcome. Thank you.
