What do you think about the new Duolingo AI chat? I honestly think it’s the best language learning tool ever made

When Duolingo introduced the AI chat, I was not very excited about it. But after using it for a while, I am completely hooked. I am starting to really hate doing lessons and now I just speak with the chat and use the “stories” feature.

I’ve been using it for over 4 months now and it’s been going very well. I think it’s honestly the most effective language learning tool I’ve ever used. That being said, I’m not the best person to judge this since I’ve always been very bad at learning new languages. I am using it to learn French, which is my third language.

I still do lessons occasionally, but I personally find them very boring and time-consuming. I don’t feel like I learn much from them. The AI chat is a lot more exciting and engaging, and I personally find that I learn a lot more by speaking to it.

I’ve always struggled with speaking and understanding spoken French. I get confused with pronunciation and I can never understand what people are saying. But using the chat for months now has made speaking and understanding spoken French much easier for me. I don’t know why, maybe because the chat always speaks slowly and clearly, so it’s easy to understand and it helps with pronunciation.

I personally think that you can easily just use the chat and ignore everything else in Duolingo (lessons, etc) and still become fluent without any additional tools. But my personal experience is not enough to know if it’s actually as effective as I claim it to be or if I’m just exaggerating.
