Added 6/8/21 I was told the police came to my house in June of 2019 and took my features. From what I have found out the police don't take firearms to get background checks. It looks like the "ombudsman" is lying to me, biggest surprise ever.

So in 2017 I was tired of my ex calling the police on me so I got a protection order against her to have something on file.

Now I should point out these events came weeks if not months apart.

In 2019 I got a call from an "ombudsman investigator" for local police asking about if my ex had access to my guns. Now these were in a safe so I was like why did you come to me with this? I was told another ombudsman had reported my ex had been armed in public and the police had to come to me to make sure she couldn't get to mine. I asked why was I being called if they already knew she was armed. I was told they found features for a ar15 on her on May 5th of 2019. I was like you went into my house without permission? They said no I was only trying to find out if my ex had access to my guns?

I called my ex up and asked her if she had been armed. She said yes what's it to you? I asked if she went into my house. She said yes weeks weeks ago. I asked if she took my ar15 parts. She said I thought they were mine.

I called up local police and filed a report for stolen firearms. I gave them the serial numbers. They said they found them after a traffic stop in may. I was like why did I not get a call? They said they called local pawn shops and I don't think they have my numbers.

I called local pawn shops and they said no one had called. I gave them a copy of the police report and my serial numbers. They said they would keep an eye out.

I asked the police for a copy of the report from may. I was told I couldn't get it because it was still under investigation. I asked for what? I was told they found a ghost gun. I was like what? I was told it was a ar15 with no serial number. I was like that's mine. I was told it was made on the street. I was like I bought that lower. They said it's not a gun in the eyes of the law if it doesn't have a serial number. I asked the officer if he had ever heard of 80% lowers. He said no.

I called the local DA and told him my story. He said come on down. I told him features aren't a gun. He said he will look into it. He called me a few days later and said they were going to call me as a witness and see what was going on.

Fast forward to yesterday I got a call from my ex's lawyer. I was like why didn't you call me you know damn well I'm gonna tell the truth. She said she believed me. I was like good I'm telling the truth.

Today I went to court and they called me up to the stand. I told them what I knew. The DA asked if my ex had access to my guns. I said no. He asked if I knew where she got the features. I said yes. He asked where? I told him from my house. He asked if she came in uninvited. I said yes weeks ago. The public defender said he had no questions for me.

Fast forward a few hours and the DA called me and said they dropped the charges. I asked why? He said the DA felt they couldn't prove on going criminal behavior.

The ombudsman called me today and said the case was closed. I asked for the report. I was told they weren't giving me the report. I asked for what reason. I was told I was only a witness. I asked why they couldn't give me the report? I was told I didn't have a need to know. I was like you came into my home without permission and came to me with this issue. I was told I didn't have a need to know. I was like can I talk to your boss? I was told I was talking to them.

Edit I was told the public defender told my ex what I said and she did not look happy.
