Has anyone found a good way to summarize notes without rewriting them?

I always try to do the Cornell Note-taking method and it helps to learn a ton, but it is really time consuming. Especially if you have a class that uses a lot of text heavy power points, it takes a long time to condense them. I’ve tried and I just don’t know how people can get through all of their notes so fast. I’ve tried to use an app on my phone too, but I always end up going back to writing because it’s so much better for retaining the information.
