What if the real world was like a fantasy one?

Hey guys, I wrote a short story about our world basically becoming a fantasy world, not sure how this could be incorporated into a larger world, but I thought that you could make it your own world :) enjoy, and please go easy on me as I'm not an aspiring writer, nor have I ever written before :) <br><br><br>Journey to the hub<br>======================<br><br>Year 2077, the last remnants of non-magical humans made their last stand. The war of magic that had started from 2050, finally ended in 2077. From that moment on, the only humans, were those that had magic.<br><br>Before magic, we called it science, and we could accomplish anything, we had found ways to leave the earth. We could even become immortal. Something that we could not stop, was death from old age. But we could stave it off for a very long time. <br><br>I was born in the year 2040. I was not like most kids. I had magic, and not very much, and it was very weak. I was an outcast, rejected by a lot that I wanted to join. <br><br>My parents were good to me, and I have 2 brothers, we are a family of 6, my father and mother, and my brothers and I. They had a lot of trouble conceiving me, and then again to conceive my other 2 brothers.<br><br>I am the oldest, and because of that, I am treated like a prince. <br><br>I live in a country that is called South Africa, before magic, it was not a very good place to be. But now, people are a lot more friendly, and there is no crime.<br><br>I have recently, because of my coming of age, have received a magical item. It is called a companion book. It is a book that has a lot of info about magic, how to do it, how to enchant items, and how to defence yourself.<br><br>I have practised a lot, a have become quite good at magic. I can do a lot of things, and I am learning new things all the time.<br><br>There is one thing that I have wanted to do for a very long time, and that is to go to "The hub". <br><br>"The Hub" is basically a centralised place where magic users can buy and sell everything. There is food, clothing, weapons, jewellery, and a lot of other things. <br><br>"The Hub" is in every country, and it is also connected. So you could be in South Africa, and still buy goods from other countries. <br><br>I decided, now that I was 18, and legally allowed to, to go to "The Hub". I decided to take my brothers with, it would be a nice family outing, and my brothers could get a chance to buy some things.<br><br>I, and my brothers, went to "The Hub", it was about a 1 hour drive. We could have flown, but it was bigger and more fun, to fly as a group. It was a nice day, and we were all excited. <br><br>When we got there, we were greeted by a lot of people. There were a lot of species there, dragons, trolls, vampires, werewolves, ghosts, and a lot more. <br><br>What "The Hub" was, was a big building, that was empty on the inside. It was like a mall, but instead of shops, there were just a lot of people, selling their goods. <br><br>We walked around for a while, just observing the different cultures. We could hear a lot of different languages, being spoken, and the smells were amazing, there were so many different foods, and drinks. <br><br>After a while of just watching, we decided to make our first purchase. I went up to a man that was selling different things, and I saw something that I really liked. <br><br>It was magical sword, and it was called "Dragon's breath". I had a lot of money, that my parents had given me for my birthday, so I was hoping to buy it. <br><br>The man told me, that it was expensive, and I asked how much. He told me that it was 1000 gold. I was hoping to buy it, so I gave him the money, and he gave me the sword. <br><br>I drew the sword, and could not stop smiling. It was very sharp, and very good quality. It was very strong, and very balanced, and I could feel the magic in it. <br><br>My brothers also wanted to buy some things, so we continued to walk around, and look at the different stalls. <br><br>After buying a few more things, we decided to get some food. We walked around, looking at all the different foods that were available, and we decided to buy some food from a Chinese man.<br><br>He was very nice, and his food was very nice. We ate quickly, as we could not wait to get back to shopping. <br><br>We bought some more things, and after a few hours of walking around, we were tired, and our feet hurt. We decided to go home, as we did not want to be too tired for school the next day.<br><br>We left "The Hub", and flew back home. We were all very happy, and we were all smiling. We had got very good bargains, and we had spent very little, we still had a lot of money left. <br><br>I looked at my brothers, and I could see that they were very happy. And I could see that they were very much enjoying themselves. <br><br>I asked them if they wanted to come again, and they said yes. So I told them that we would come again, the following week. <br><br>They were very much looking forward to it, and I could see it in their eyes. <br><br>We eventually got home, and we told our parents about our day. They listened intently, and they were happy to hear about our day.<br><br>They asked us about the things that we had bought, and we told them. My father was very pleased that I had bought a sword. <br><br>He told me that I would need it, for defence. And I told him that I would take good care of it. <br><br>After that, we went to our rooms. We were all very tired, and we needed to go to sleep. We had school the next day, and we did not want to be tired.<br><br>I went to sleep immediately, as did my brothers. We all had very nice dreams, and we were all very happy. <br><br>I woke up early, and got dressed. I was very excited, as I had a lot of fun the day before, and I was hoping to have a lot of fun today.<br><br>My brothers woke up, and we went downstairs. Our parents were there, and they were making breakfast. <br><br>We ate quickly, as we did not want to be late for school. We left very soon after we finished eating. <br><br>It was a nice day, so we decided to walk. We walked very quickly, as we did not want to be late. We were having a very nice time. <br><br>We eventually got to school, and we were just in time. We went inside, and we were greeted by a lot of people. We were all very happy, and we were all smiling. <br><br>I had a lot of fun that day, and I am hoping to have a lot of fun tomorrow as well.
