I started to watch Japanese soap operas and my ears got adjusted so fast

I started to watch Japanese soap operas with English subtitles. The subtitles barely last for more than a few seconds. I saw the first five episodes and still had difficulty to understand. I understand 70% of the words but I can not hear them. I tried to slow and speed up speed but it did not help. <br><br>I keep on watching and my ears are getting used to it. I rarely need to watch with subtitles. I understand 80% of the Japanese words. I understand 98% of the words if I am watching with subtitles. I can hear all the words. <br><br>I am going to keep on watching. I can hear something strange with certain expressions. I can hear them very well but I have no idea what it means. I can hopefully and some more vocabulary. <br><br>I keep on watching, I will be able to hear and understand it fluently.
