“AI” killed my job today

Not really sure what made this an “AI” problem, but thought it would be relevant here. Not a professional dev, but I write code for a living. I used chat gpt to write a regular expression for a project. Left chat GPT open on an air because I loved it so much. It made me an extremely fast regex because I’m not good at them. <br><br>Client I was on today was my manager. I loved this feature I wanted to show him because I’m sure he would be impressed, so I did. He made me delete it and rewrite it because I didn’t write it. There is no way I can prove I wrote the regex so I just admitted it. <br><br>If I’m not allowed to use GPT, I can’t work. I’m not sure how I’m supposed to do this job without it. I’m supposed to write an operating system (not from scratch) for a new product line. It’s my project and I’ve made good progress without AI. <br><br>The feature I wanted to show him was one I’ve been trying to create for months. Just getting the regex made me an instant pro, made it so much easier. I’m not sure how I’m supposed to make my new operating system without it if it’s not allowed.
