The Singularity is not a "maybe" anymore. It's coming on full force. It's almost crazy. It's wrong to not see it

Yeah you heard me. I knew it would be coming, but it's crazy. It's wrong to not see it. The singularity is coming whether you like it or not.<br><br>I'm an older millennial. In my life time I've seen:<br><br>* The internet come on line, and it's improvement over the years to the point where it's almost magic. Ask it anything and it gives you the answer. Want a table of information? It's got you covered.<br>* Cell phones go from being used just to make calls to being full on supercomputers<br>* The rise of voice to text on Google phones<br>* The rise of AI voice assistants<br>* The rise of virtual reality headsets<br>* The rise of deep fakes<br>* The rise of generative AI<br><br>Three things have happened recently enough that it's hit me like a brick on the head: <br><br>* Google Gemini is out. You can have a conversation with it, ask it to create a table for you, and it will do it. You can ask it to summarize what it just told you, and it will. You can ask it to follow a chain of arguments to its logical conclusion, and it will do that. I asked it to write a quick list of all the things that it can do, and it will do that. I asked it to write an email summarizing what it can do, and it did. I asked it to generate a message for an anonymous message board that I frequent, and it did. I'm still playing with it, but it's crazy. It's wrong to not see it. The Singularity is coming. <br>* I recently saw a video of Mark Zuckerberg talking about how GENERATIVE AI is going to change the world for the better. It's almost crazy to see Zuckerberg standing up on stage and talking about how AI is going to make everything better. I just watched him do it.<br>* I just watched a video of Google DeepMind's Gemini playing chess against a grandmaster and crushing him. It's wrong to not see it. The Singularity is coming. <br><br>Yeah you heard me. I know this is a chamber for the technological singularity, but it's crazy. It's wrong to not see it. The future is here. It's crazy.
