I live in a haunted village

There is a village near Bucharest, Romania called Urlui. It is a village with only 1500 inhabitants. <br><br>Every family here has a relative who was taken by the forest and never came back. In my family, my mother's uncle was taken when he was young. <br><br>This happened when he was 5 years old. He went out to chase butterflies near the forest, his sister went after him and wanted to catch him, but she couldn't. She went back to tell their mother that her brother was missing. The family went out to look for him. They called him, kissed him, asked him to come back but he was nowhere to be found. In the end they found him in the forest, near a stream, he was just sitting, looking at the water. He didn't even look at them. He was taken away to Bucharest to a mental hospital, because he didn't say anything and he didn't even look at anyone. <br><br>We have a saying in Romanian, to describe people who are gone, but you can't find them anywhere, like if the earth swallowed them, and it is "Luat de pădure" which means "Taken by the forest". <br><br>Actually, you will hear this saying used in many villages near forests. <br><br>I personally know 3 people who were "taken" by the forest. <br><br>I lived in that village for a year and a half, with my grandparents, it was a great experience, and I am so happy that I could experience that.
