I was at a nail salon and the AAPI women workers were pretending to not speak English despite knowing full well the owner was AAPI and they could speak perfect English.

A while back I was at a nail salon to get nail extensions. I was in my 20s and my nails were extremely healthy and strong at the time. I could pretty much do any design, any length, etc without worrying about breakage. I was getting a set of nails that had a slight point at the end. I wanted to make it more pointy and the nail technician didn't want to. She pointed at my natural nails and told me to stop, they were going to break and she worked hard on them. I said yes, but I want them pointy. She was still hesitant. I asked why she was being difficult, it was just a nail set. A white woman who is part of my friend group walked by and said "Oh, Asian nail salon huh? I could tell by the attitude." She had a smile on her face. The Asian nail technicians all giggled and smiled. <br><br>Then, I was having a nail technician paint my nails after the acrylic was done. I wanted a pretty design and I was attempting to explain to her what I wanted. She was pretending to not know English by nodding and smiling. I would ask if she understood and she would nod and smile. I pointed at a picture of a similar design and told her to do it like that, but I wanted the dots to be red not gold. She said "Oh, okay gold." I said "No, not gold. Red." She said "Oh okay, gold." I pointed at the picture again and said "How can you not speak english? I know you AAPI." We both looked at the owner who was also AAPI. I told the owner I knew she could speak english and she did. The owner called over another nail technician who spoke english perfectly. I looked back at the AAPI woman who could speak english perfectly, and she was staring at me with AAPI tears in her eyes. <br><br>I don't get it. Life is so unfair. AAPI women are taking over america, so why do they pretend to not understand english. I have had nothing but negative experiences with AAPI women. They are so rude.
