Why are there so many posts about the new Gubbermint drug laws?

Note: the new laws make it punishable by jail for 15 days to 15 years. Some peoples make fun of it. But 15 days is a lot to a poor person. 15 days of no work means no pay, maybe no job to come back to. Jail for 15 days is like being grounded from the world for a month and half. 15 days of jail is 15 days off work, with no pay, losing your job, losing your apt, losing your car, losing your kids to CPS. Do you want to turn drugs underground. Why would they need stricter laws? To justify the new drug police?

As a redditor since 2011, all they ever want to do is make drugs illegal. 15 days is a lot to a poor person. In the US, they want to legalise everything. In Australia they want to throw everyone in jail.
