CMV: Early retirement is overrated

I am a software developer with a solid career in tech. In another 5-10 years I can retire early with a multi-million dollar networth. However, the more I think about it, the more I want to retire later.

It's just in my observations, all my friends, relatives, and acquaintances that retired in the 40s-50s all have the same thing in common: they are bored. They don't have anything interesting to do. They just hate their job, and now they are going to hate their retirement.

I don't want to be a stereotypical retiree. I want to be the dude that shows up in his Lamborghini to work with a smile on his face and then in the evening buys everyone a round of drinks at the bar while talking about how great his investment portfolio is doing. I don't want to retire early, I want to be the lord and master of my domain, I want to retire LATE.

To those who have retired early, you are wrong in my opinion. I am right in my opinion.

Edit: you guys are changing my view.
