I am a 23M and I recently bought a house. My dad lives in it as well. The house is huge, it has 4 extra rooms that are currently unfurnished that my dad had promised I could turn into my own room. I also had planned on getting a dog, but he moved a friend named "Jim" in one of the rooms. This was a few months ago and my dad said that he could stay there for a month but he would need to find a new place to live by that time. The time is up now but my dad said that his friend cannot find a home. He asked me to please let Jim stay there for another week and a half, which I agreed to. However, my dad said that he is still unable to find a place and asked for another week. By the time that is over, his friend will have been living in my house for an extended period of time. I told my dad that my answer is final and that he cannot stay any longer. He said that he is an old friend and that he can't just kick him out. He insisted that he needs to give him time to find a place to live. I told him that he can have a month but my dad said that he doesn't see how that is enough time and that his friend needs to stay for another month.

So I sat him down and told him that I won't allow him to stay for another month. My dad is 58 and has been a realtor for most of his life. Luckily, he is retired now so he isn't in danger of losing his job over this but I told him that if his friend doesn't find a place to live, then he is out of a place to live too. My dad called me a spoiled brat and an A-hole for treating his friend this way. I don't see how I am the A-hole. I have given him plenty of time to find a place to live and it's been over 6 months. I don't know what to do now though. I have stopped talking to my dad and I don't know how to reconcile.
