He crossed his arms and stamped a foot.<br><br>''No. Is that understood?''<br><br>''Yes.''He said nothing more and sat in the corner of his bedroom, his back to the woman as he opened his book and read. After a while, he went to bed and slept. Although, being four years old, even boring days aren't very boring. There's always a way to have fun and he was bored.<br><br>He so wanted to go outside. He had never been outside. He only knew what it was like by the pictures in his books. After a while, he heard his mother leave his house. He waited, then crept out of his room.<br><br>Down the hall, he walked, his little legs carrying him to the front door. For a few moments, he stared at the handle. How hard could it be? He had never opened a door before. He had no idea how to open one. The woman always opened the doors and she would never leave them open. He pushed the handle down, then pulled. The door opened slightly and he opened it wider. He looked outside. A few birds in the sky and a man standing by his car, two houses away.<br><br>''Hello. Is your mother home?'' The man asked him.<br><br>''No.'' He answered.<br><br>''Why are you outside then?'' The man asked.<br><br>''I want to go to the park.'' He said. He had always wanted to go to the park. At four years old, he had convinced himself that it was the best place in the world.<br><br>''Well, you can't go to the park by yourself. Let me call your mother.'' The man pushed a few buttons on his phone before speaking into it. ''Hey. You left your kid outside.'' He paused, as he listened to the woman on the other end of the phone. ''What do you mean it isn't yours?'' He looked at the boy. ''How old is he?'' He listened some more, then hung up.<br><br>''Is she coming?'' The boy asked.<br><br>''No. She isn't.'' He paused. ''Listen, I don't have time to deal with this. I have somewhere to go. If you want to go to the park, you can come with me. I have to stop somewhere first, but it won't take very long.''
