We make $350k/year. 2 Income, no kids. Rent is $4k/month, 401k being contributed into, some debt on an auto, cell phones and all the normal expenses.

Once all of our expenses are paid, we barely have any money left over. At least not enough to feel like we can go out and enjoy ourselves. I feel like we should have money left over to just enjoy ourselves and go buy a nice dinner, or go out to a concert, or go on a nice trip to Japan. We do take vacations, but it's never where we want to go, it's always where ever is the cheapest that will still be "fun".

I sometimes get this sinking feeling that something bad is going to happen, and we won't have the money to handle it. If one of us is let go from our job, we'll be in serious trouble.

I don't feel like we make enough money to be prepared for anything to go wrong. On the flip side, I've never thought that making a million dollars a year will fix all our issues. After doing some research, it seems like there are a lot of millionaires that don't invest their money properly and are living paycheck to paycheck also.

So, the question is, at what point do you start making enough money where you feel like you can handle anything life throws at you?
