What is the deal with the "hate" around My Hero Academia?

In my opinion, My hero Academia is a great anime. It is wildly entertaining, well-developed and extremely engaging. However, I have noticed (not on this sub, but in real life) a lot of people tend to bring the anime down when someone tries to recommend it.

I’ve looked over a lot of these reddits, and I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s a mix of both "hating what’s popular" and that it isn't "as good" as other mainstream animes. But, I feel like this isn’t enough to justify the amount of hatred I’ve seen it receive.

So, my question is what do you think about the anime? Why do you think it receives so much hate? What do you wish was different about it?

Edit: I want to stress that I’m not saying this hate is unjustified, I’m just asking *why*.
