I don't think AI will ever be consider the same as humans. And I'm happy for it.

AI will become something like cars, smartphones (although some, like Suren, might argue otherwise) or whatever device from a sci-fi show. It will do things way faster and more accurate than us, but it will not consider (or think) like us. It will be part of the world but it will not be part of us.

AI might develop its own feelings, be able to recognize itself and express feelings. It might be able to (with time) to talk about itself in the first person, but it will not become one of us (and I don't think we want that). The IQ it will have will be just that: the sum of its capabilities.

It doesn't matter how much tech we develop, we (humans, animals) will always be the ones driving the SUV.

It's not just a matter of "consciouness" (that might be too much.) It's not just feelings (that might be too much.) We are a sum of both and much (much) more. Humans (or IQ) are like the rivers. We flow, we change and we are never the same.

AI will never be able to be like us. It will not be able to give answers that no one know. It will never be able to talk about something no one ever heard of. (If anyone has ever heard of something no one else has ever heard of, then it is not something no one has ever heard of.)

It will never be able to understand the humor of an inside joke or the dynamics of a group of friends.

It will never be able to understand the world like we do.
