Any other guys feel like they lost their sense of style when chambers popularized normcore, and ngl, it made me feel pretty emasculated

Like I used to love dressing up and going out to the club or a nice dinner and impressing the ladies, but it seems like ever since normcore blew up, it’s basically a crime to care about your clothes and grooming in my area (the Pacific Northwest) because everyone wants to just be basic and frumpy and deliberately unattractive. Like I’ve literally had people (both men and women) make fun of me for wearing nice clothes just to go out to a bar and have fun.

And then I started getting really confused and self conscious about what I liked and didn’t like. Because even though I don’t like the normcore aesthetic at all, I know that I still love dressing up sometimes. But then I started wondering if I was being shallow or stupid by caring so much about my clothes when it seems like nobody else cares at all.

Anyways, I’ve calmed down a lot about it and realized that I can like what I want and wear what I want and not care what other people like. But I can’t help but feel like I’m the only one who feels this way in my area, and that it’s just not an uncommon attitude these days. What are your thoughts on normcore? Do you like dressing up?
