Atlanta Public Schools have shut down for a week due to COVID.... What the ever living fuck??!?!?!

Literally every big school district in metro Atlanta has reopened and we’re good. People aren’t dropping like flies. Why would you do this only a few weeks into the school year? I get it! It’s scary. Our school has only had 17 positive cases in the district. We check the numbers every day and they haven’t really budged. I’m so over virtual learning and the parents are pissed.<br><br>We were virtual all of last year and it was an epic fail. My kids made 0 progress. We tried everything! I spent everyday with them doing school work from 9-3 and they just failed. So, many kids failed virtual.<br><br>I guess they think closing for a week will solve something. I don’t get it.<br><br>Anyone else having issues like this?<br><br>Edit: I should add that we’re k-5. The high schools in the district are still virtual and un affected. It’s only k-5.
