I recently outlined the ultimate (and I mean ultimate) space opera that covers the whole of human history. It follow 5 dramatic arcs each focusing on a different character, 2 of which are AI.

From the origin of humanity (every story and legend from ancestors to follow), to the eventual dramatic end of human civilization, destroying the universe in the process. It takes in early ancestors follow and mythological heroes battling dramatic monsters, ancestors leading great empires but struggling with the gods, the early colonisation of earth with first contact with aliens. Then humanity manages to get to Mars and contact other aliens, the great wars, empires rise and fall, humanity expands to other galaxies, various alien wars, humanity and AI finally work together, they stumble across a couple of civilisations that are several orders of magnitude more advanced than humanity, and then a final apocalyptic war.

Yep, my ancestors were pretty cool.

It’s about a 500 year arc, it ends with the follow up to 2001: a space odyssey space baby returning destroying the universe and destroying 2 of the massive empires while the 3rd goes off in a generation ship and the AIs disappear into hyperspace and a couple of humans survive in generation ships.

So what would you follow this up with?! Is there anything else to say?
