When I was a kid, my mom told me that all the nerds in my school would get rich and date super hot girls when they grew up. And all the popular kids would end up flipping burgers. It wasn't true.

She told me that because she wanted me to focus on my school work and not give a fuck about being a loser. But in reality it's the opposite. All the popular kids left my high school and got hot girlfriends and good paying jobs, because they're better socially, make connections and friendships, and have an easier time navigating life because of it. While a lot of the nerds I knew are all single and most got mediocre jobs.<br><br>And it's not like it's just my school. I've seen this play out for years and years everywhere. I think anyone who has been to high school or college can see that a lot of the popular kids get what they want.
