i just dont understand how my parents can be so unsupportive of my choices.

i wouldnt even have a child if you paid me to. ive always believed that parents should have kids because they want to, not because they have to. parents should be able to provide for their kids and give them a happy life. unfortunately, for me, i come from a low-income family, and we dont have the money to provide a happy life to my child. i'm not even in a relationship rn, and i dont see myself in one anytime soon because i just dont have time for that rn. i have to work, i have to go to school, and i have to help my parents around the house.

i'm not gonna lie, i hate kids. they make too much noise, they're too clingy, and they're too demanding. and on top of that, i'm already a very anxious person. i dont think i could handle having a child.

what makes it worse is that my family is very religious. in my religion, we dont believe in abortion, birth control, sex before marriage, etc. so if i got pregnant, my parents would expect me to go all the way with the pregnancy, drop out of school, and help them raise the child. i dont know how i would provide for my child, and i know that i couldn't do my best as a mother.

i wouldnt even care if my parents dont support my decision to be childfree, but the thing is that they wouldnt even let me have a choice. they dont care about my feelings or my well-being. all they care about is that im following the rules of our religion and that im making them proud.

i dont know if anyone relates to this, but i just wanted to vent about it. i feel like my parents dont care about me. they're more worried about me having kids than me being happy.

-edit- i know a few people in the comments are confused about my religion. my family is roman catholic and that's why we dont believe in abortion, birth control, or sex before marriage. we're not very religious, but we still go to church a lot and we still follow a lot of the roman catholic rules.
