Hi, I'm Shen. I've been doing catgirl cosplay for 5 years and a lot of things have happened lately that might be worth saying something about. Please note that all of the following are just my personal thoughts, and you are free to have your own opinions. Here's a brief summary:
1. Catgirls in public
2. Creepers in the catgirl industry
3. Catgirls and creepers

**Catgirls in public**
When I was a freshman in college, I remember our school would have our weekly cat cafe meetup. I'd never attended, but I saw their posters on the campus every day. During my senior year, I was invited to a cat cafe in Nanjing, and that was the first time I ever met other catgirls. Today, I get invited every month. I think it's all good as long as you don't do anything inapropriate. It's not a crime to wear public, and you're still a human with a right to be in public space. This is something I've been saying for a long time.

**Creepers in the catgirl industry**
Soon after getting into the community, I learned about the "catgirl apocalypse" in 2021, in which several incidents of sexual harassment went public, leading to a serious backlash against the catgirl community. I remember some saying we were all sexualized, or that we had no standards when picking our "cat daddies". In a way, they were right. A lot of the recent controversies also center around this issue. I think people with ulterior motives have always existed, and I'm sure some of them would even wear sailor fuku or any other costumes in order to get what they want. So why did they have to wear cat ears? That's what I want to say about this.

**Catgirls and creepers**
I think the two are closely linked, and their relationship is more like "duos" rather than "enemies". The reason is simple: both of them feed into each other. The creepers give the catgirls what they want. The catgirls give the creepers what they want. Who's worse? I don't think there's an answer to that. Instead of blaming each other, we should set boundaries and be more careful. I think this is applicable to all people, not just catgirls.

I originally wanted to write a longer post, but I think that's all for today. If you have any thoughts, please let me know.
