Recently, I've come to the realization that the USA isn't as great as everyone says it is. I mean yeah, it's a big and productive nation, but that doesn't make it great.

I believe that "greatness" of a country is measured by the quality of life of its citizens.

Firstly, the cost of living is high and wages aren't proportional. Yes, all countries have inflation, but the US is particularly bad with it. People are struggling to make ends meet, many working multiple jobs in order to barely live comfortably. People in the USA have a hard time affording healthcare and often can't afford the treatments prescribed to them. Many people in the USA are working just to survive. It's just the bare minimum, and that's not a great nation. Why should people be allowed to starve but not die?

Secondly, many Americans are very close-minded. Many are very militarized, to the point where they put the nation before the people, which is not good. Many are nationalistic to a fault, with patriotism playing a big role in their thinking instead of logic. Many people refuse to listen to ideas that aren't American. Many people are not receptive to different cultures and have a hard time accepting other races, sexualities, and religions.

Lastly, the USA doesn't perform that well on global statistics. The USA is 44th in global standard of living, 24th in life expectancy, and 27th in overall happiness, which is pretty bad for such an "amazing" country.

In conclusion, I believe that the USA isn't as great as people say it to be, because the life quality in America is not good, with many people struggling to make ends meet, and a high cost of living with low wages.

EDIT: One more thing, the USA has a 40% obesity rate. The next closest country to that is Saudi Arabia at 35%. 40% of the USA is obese, let that sink in
