Does philosophy always have to be taken seriously?

Philosophy is serious business but I think it often benefits from not being taken so seriously. I am a philosophy major and I always feel like I have to approach philosophical topics in a serious manner. That opens you up to a lot of criticism from peers and sometimes it's hard to express your ideas.
