When you think of genocide you probably think of the one the Nazis have committed. But the one the Prussians suffered from is somehow much less notable. There were approximately 1 million Prussians in 13th century, while in the 17th there were less than 100000. A very smart Redditor from r/AskTeenGirls has calculated that since their population was decreasing by 10% each century, while the world population was increasing, that means they were 70% less than the average, for two centuries. With the average 20th century population increase being 350% it means that in the 17th century, the Prussians were 4.2 times more likely to die than to give birth to a child. This has been acknowledged by multiple historians, that is “a genocide” to say the least.
