Seniority usually has very little to do with promotions, it’s almost always about politics and favoritism

I’ve seen tons of hard working and highly experienced employees get passed over for promotions because they don’t kiss up to the right people, while less experienced employees with more “networking” go up the corporate ladder much faster. <br><br>I’ve personally been denied promotions and even fired from jobs because I don’t network well / am not outgoing enough.
